A general statement or idea applies to a large group of people or things. “Groups” or “categories” can describe these groups or groups of items. This remark is often used to bring up a subject that will be explained in more detail in the following sentence. “Birds can fly” would be an excellent example of a general statement.

Specific assertions are sentences about a particular person, idea, or thing. People, thoughts, and something that exists can be described with specific phrases highlighting their unique qualities and traits.
The inside story
There are many ways to add more detail to a general statement. They will limit what public information means. A specific idea is something like a logical argument that is backed up by evidence, like statistics or the words of an expert. For example, please look at this: Our data shows that more than half of all phone calls are robocalls.
When a general statement is used instead of a specific one, it is for a reason. Non-specific situations necessitate public comments. Use them to talk about your piece of writing without going into too much detail in your first paragraph. Starting with the introduction, the paragraph’s content will become clearer until it reaches the thesis statement. The purpose of a thesis statement is to clarify what the author is trying to say in the text. In this example, we can see how broad claims lead to more specific ones.
When summarizing a book or essay, you can also use general phrases to say what the main point is. They might give a big picture or the main point. Public statements can be used as topic sentences or as transitional comments at the start of body paragraphs in an essay. Using transition statements makes it easy for the reader to move from one subject to another.
As the text goes on, specific claims will be made. Most of the time, an essay’s body will be made up of particular statements followed by general ones. First, there will be a public statement about the issue, and then there will be more specific statements.

The last paragraph of an essay can also have general comments that sum up the most critical points. The points made in the first two paragraphs will be explained in more detail in the following ones.
Conclusion
In a general statement, a claim is made, and that claim needs proof to back it up. Specific words explain public statements by giving more information, facts, and examples, as well as setting the scene. They come after the general statements and back them up with facts and arguments. Using what was said in the public statement, the specific statement can add more information.
